We are connected to the state dental care support – Försäkringskassan. You can use your general dental care allowance and take part in the high-cost protection with us.

Dental care subsidy – Försäkringskassan

If you are insured in Sweden, you can receive free dental care until the age of 23. The year you turn 24 and are required to pay for dental care, you can receive national dental care subsidy. If you have a special need for dental care, you may be eligible for dental care subsidy.

You can receive general dental care allowance if you
• Turn at least 24 years of age during the year
• are insured in Sweden.

You are if you live or work here. There are some exceptions to this rule.

The insurance fund
We are affiliated with the state dental care subsidy – the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan). You can use your general dental care allowance and benefit from the high-cost protection with us.

Dental care allowance

On July 1st each year, you receive a general dental care subsidy. It is held as a credit with the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan):

• From the year you turn 24 until the year you turn 29, the subsidy is SEK 600 per year.

• From the year you turn 30 until the year you turn 64, the subsidy is SEK 300 per year.

• From the year you turn 65, the subsidy is SEK 600 per year.

You can save the subsidy for the following year, allowing you to use two subsidies in the same year. However, you can never have more than two subsidies saved at the same time. If you have two subsidies on July 1st, one of them will be removed and replaced with a new one.

High-cost protection

You are responsible for paying costs that amount to a total of SEK 3,000 within a year, according to the government's reference prices. After that, you will receive reimbursement for:

• 50 percent of costs that exceed SEK 3,000.

• 85 percent of costs that exceed SEK 15,000.

Example:
A treatment consists of procedures with a total price of SEK 20,000. In this case, you would first pay SEK 3,000 to reach the first level of the high-cost protection. For costs between 3,000 and 15,000 SEK, which is 12,000 SEK, you would then pay 50 percent, which amounts to 6,000 SEK. For costs exceeding SEK 15,000, which is SEK 5,000, you would pay 15 percent, which amounts to SEK 750. Therefore, you would pay a total of SEK 9,750 (3,000 + 6,000 + 750).
